Following homecoming ceremonies Friday night at Houston High School, the Houston Alumni Association is hosting activities today.
Many classes are planning reunions in conjunction with the activities.
Saturday events: The Houston Alumni Association will hold a breakfast from 7-10 a.m. Saturday at the Houston Senior Center on Grand Avenue. The cost is $6. The Houston Education Foundation will hold a barbecue cookout from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Houston Walmart Supercenter parking lot. A mixer for alumni runs from 2-4 p.m. at Hiett Gymnasium. A short program starts at 3 p.m. with association updates, scholarship reports and classes graduating in years ending in “3” and “8” will be recognized.
Sunday: The Houston Lions Club will host a fish fry from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the community building at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds on North U.S. 63. Proceeds raise funds for various eyesight charities. Members also will collect used eyeglasses for underprivileged.
