Houston Police Department handled investigations in the last week.

The following reports were generated last week by the Houston Police Department.

•Two Summersville men were each issued a pair of citations following a traffic stop at midnight Sept. 21 at the intersection of U.S. 63 and Highway 17.

While stopped in a patrol car at a stop sign at U.S. 63 and First Street, a duo of officers observed a gray Ford Ranger pickup bearing passenger car license plates drive by. After pulling the it over and making contact with its male driver, one of the officers saw a rifle on the seat between the driver and passenger.

The other officer secured the gun, and both officers then noticed a glass smoking device in the ashtray.

After an investigation, the driver – Erik S. Warren, 25, of 734 Second St. in Summersville – was cited for displaying plates of another and driving with a revoked license, and the passenger – Daniel S. Cooley, 27, of 241 Fifth St. in Summersville – was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The glass pipe and a cellophane wrapper containing pot were seized as evidence. Both men were fingerprinted and released.

•Maraenda L. Swallow, 22, of 309 Holt St. in Houston, was ticketed on Sept. 7 for driving a vehicle with expired license plates.

•Mary E. Jump, 33, of 324 Summit St. in Cabool, was issued a citation for driving with a suspended license.

•Jerry L. Price Jr., 34, of 1121 W. Highway 17 in Houston, was issued citations on Sept. 20 for driving with a suspended license and driving a vehicle with expired license plates.
