STELLA CRABTREE

Stella Faye Crabtree, daughter of George R. and Nancy Ellen (Jackson) Hoke, was born on April 13, 1915, in Turley, Mo. She departed this life on Sept. 10, 2013, at the Montello Care Center in Montello, Wisc., at the age of 98. She was united in marriage to Ervin Crabtree and to this union two children were born, Robert Allen and Mary Ellen.

Stella lived in Plato for many years and was active in the Plato Extension Club. She, along with her children, accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized into Christ at the Plato Christian Church.

She loved flowers and had many growing in her yard. She also loved quilting and sewing. After moving to Houston, she was active with the quilting group at the First Christian Church. She was also active in the Senior Center in Houston and enjoyed playing pitch with other seniors.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Ray; her sister, Dorothy; and her son, Robert.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jim Goggin of Westfield, Wisc.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Eugene Earp officiating. Burial was in Pine Lawn Cemetery.
