Delta Krewson, 96, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at Licking Park Manor Nursing Home.
She was born March 23, 1917, in Prescott, daughter of Robert and Lavenia Reed Keeney. She and Delmus Eugene “Gene” Krewson were married Dec. 24, 1936.
Shortly after marriage, she and her husband moved to Oregon, where she welded ships during WWII. A few years later, they moved back to Missouri and purchased the Licking Sale Barn. She worked alongside here husband there, as well as the Bank of Raymondville and Nickels Pallet Mill.
She accepted Jesus as her savior early in life and was faithfully worked in the church as long as her health permitted.
She enjoyed gardening, music, camping and traveling. She loved cooking and entertaining family and friends. She will be remembered for her summer cookouts and Christmas Eve gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; and a daughter Delma Jean Roper.
Survivors include a son, Terry of Licking; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Services were Sunday, Oct. 6, at Boone Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Parker officiating. Burial was in Boone Creek Cemetery under direction of Fox Funeral Home.
