The following reports were generated last week by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 10:20 p.m. Oct. 12 regarding a possible fight at a Northview Lane trailer park in Houston. The officer located two men arguing and told them to stop. They left the property.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 8:30 p.m. Oct. 12 regarding a report of a missing person at an Iron Mine Road residence in Licking. The officer was told missing man had been hunting and not returned. The man then called and stated he was in Rolla and was OK.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 6 p.m. Oct. 12 regarding a well-being check of a child at a Shaffer Road trailer park in Licking. A woman there told the officer she had heard a kid yelling, “stop hitting me.”
The officer made contact with a group of children and determined they were playing and nobody was being hit.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 9:50 p.m. Oct. 11 after a woman reported her dog had been stolen from her residence at a Northview Lane trailer park in Houston. When the officer arrived, the woman told him her dog had been returned and she didn’t want to sign a statement.
•A woman called at about 9:30 p.m. Oct. 13 and reported that her mother had come to her Highway 17 residence at Yukon and taken her brother’s license plates. When an investigating officer arrived, the woman told him she didn’t need help from law enforcement because she had handled the situation herself.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 5:50 p.m. Oct. 15 regarding a report of a dead dog in a trash bag at a residence in a Northview Lane trailer park in Houston. The officer was unable to locate the woman who lived at the location, but neighbors said she was in the ER at the hospital.
The officer checked back later in the evening, and the dog was gone.
•MSHP Troop G requested assistance at about 2:30 a.m. Oct. 20 regarding a person jumping in front of traffic on U.S. 60 near the truck scales. An investigating officer was unable to locate the person.
•A 70-year-old Licking man reported on Oct. 9 that a five-gallon gas can filled with gas and four 2-foot, heavy duty towing chains had been stolen from is Amburn Road residence.
