Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE), a program that offers free tax return preparation to people age 60 and older, is seeking volunteers to help administer the program in Texas County in 2014.
TCE programs are offered by the Southwest Missouri Office on Aging in its 17-county planning and service area. Free tax preparation services are generally provided at senior centers within each county.
Volunteers who provide tax counseling are often retired individuals who have a desire to utilize their skills to help others. Comprehensive training is provided to volunteers before the start of the program in February.
