Houston Police Department handled investigations in the last week.

The following reports were generated last week by the Houston Police Department:

•Three male teenagers were issued citations for possession of synthetic marijuana during an early morning incident Oct. 6.

On officer on patrol observed a green Ford Mustang parked at about 3 a.m. by the north pavilion at Emmett Kelly Park. The officer made contact with the driver and multiple other people standing outside the car, and the driver stated the car’s battery had died.

The officer observed the driver acting nervous and asked for and received consent to search the car.

The officer then found a package containing K-2 lying on the floor.

Cited for possession were; Billy J. Shepherd, 17, of Licking; Austin J. Payne, 18, of Troy; and the driver, Kody R. Morgan, 19, of Alton. A 16-year-old Alton boy and a 15-year-old Houston girl were also reportedly involved.

•Bret A. Smith, 18, of 112 Spruce St., Apt. 2, in Houston, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after allegedly shoplifting several items from the Houston Walmart on Oct. 8.

After a store employee reported the incident at about 8:45 p.m., Smith was located a short time later walking along Highway 17.

•Dustin R. Odom, 28, of 513 Phelps St. in Houston, was arrested for having five active Houston Police Department warrants. An officer who was aware of the warrants arrested Odom at his residence at about 8 p.m.

The warrants were for driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, stealing under $500 and driving while revoked. Odom was taken to the Texas County Jail where he was unable to post $1,225 bond.
