Additional performances of the STARS Foundation’s theatrical music, “The Christmas Carol,” have been announced after cancellations last week due to the weather.
Opening performances are 7 p.m. Thursday (tonight), Friday and Saturday, Dec. 12-14. A matinee is 3 p.m. Saturday. Thursday’s performance is free for the area’s support of the foundation.
The musical, based on the Charles Dickens novel by the same name, has been extended also to play 7 p.m. Dec. 19-20.
The play features performances by a number of local artists and orchestral music provided by STARS students. The play pits the laments and wealth of Ebenezer Scrooge in sharp contrast to the humility and poverty of his employee, Bob Cratchit, and his sickly son, Tiny Tim.
It is a story of social criticism and morality.
Tickets are available by calling 417-254-3168. Box office will open at 6 an hour before the show. Reserved tickets are $5 and will be $6 at the door. Persons can also pick up tickets in Cabool at the STARS Foundation at 519 Main St.
