Drury University’s College of Continuing Professional Studies has announced the creation of the Texas County Scholarship — a $1,000 competitive award which will assist students from Drury’s campuses in the area with the cost of their education.
In Texas County, classes are offered at Houston, Cabool and Licking.
The first scholarship will be available for students enrolled in the spring 2014 semester and is open to new and returning students at a Texas County location. Interested applicants may receive an application at the Cabool campus at 801 Walnut Ave. or by calling 417-962-5314. Applications are due Jan. 10.
“We have worked hard to keep higher education as accessible and as affordable as possible. The Texas County scholarship will be one more way that worthy students can defray the costs of furthering their education,” said Aaron Jones, dean of the College of Continuing Professional Studies.
Drury recently introduced two new degree programs in emergency management and public administration.
