ETHEL PIERCE

Ethel Pauline Pierce, 84, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Research Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 17, 1929, near Huggins, daughter of Arthur Blaine and Mattie Ethel Headley Tate. She and Hugo Gene Pierce were married June 12, 1951.

She was saved at a young age and was a charter member of Hopewell Baptist Church near Graff. She graduated from Houston High School in 1948.

After starting married life in the Navy, she and her husband eventually in Blue Springs, where Pauline was a stay-at-home mom and daycare provider.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene; two three brothers, Oral, Verl and Virgil Tate; and sisters Ola Ziepseerder and Virgie Davis.

Survivors include four children, Brian Pierce of Olathe, Kan., Karen Meisenheimer of Kansas City, Sharon Anderson of Camden Point and Beverly Jackson of Newberg, Ore.; a sister, Sylvia Bridges of Cabool; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren, Robin Roberts, Mike Meisenheimer, Daniel Anderson, Laura Batie and Megan Anderson; five step great-grandsons; and several other family members.

Memorial services were Saturday, Dec. 21, at First Baptist Church of Raytown.
