Forrest Donald Grogan, 78, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Mercy St. Francis.

He was born Dec. 13, 1935, in Tyrone, son of Grippie Donald and Mary Ann Lee Grogan. He and Janice Irene Starnes were married May 11, 1957, in Cabool.

He was a member of the Big Creek Church near Yukon. He and his wife, Janice, were faithful to help in any way they could.

He worked many years at Rawlins. He retired from H. D. Lee Company, where he worked as a sewing machine mechanic. After his retirement, he ran the family farm. He operated a dairy herd for a while, then returned to running stock cows. He also operated a backhoe and dump truck business.

His favorite pastimes were doing things with his family. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren and lending a helping hand to others.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Mavis; and his mother and father-in-law, Roy and Ione Starnes.

Suvivors include his wife, Janice, of the home; three children, Reta Cooper and Larry Grogan of Summersville and Gary Grogan of Pacific; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Vina Honeycutt of Hutton Valley; two brothers, Lonnie Grogan and Richard Grogan of Mountain View; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Services were Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Bradford Funeral Home with the Rev. David Jett officiating. Burial was in Arroll Cemetery.
