The Houston boys’ basketball team will face one of its biggest rivals over the holidays.
The ninth-seeded Tigers will kick off the annual Cabool Holiday Tournament with a first-round matchup against No. 8 Licking. The game is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26.
The contest between the two Texas County rivals is the opening game of the tournament. Top-seeded Liberty received a bye in the 15-team field and will await the HHS-Licking winner.
Other first-round matchups the day after Christmas are:

- (5) Winona vs. (12) Seymour, 1:30 p.m.
- (2) Thayer vs. (15) Lutie, 3 p.m.
- (7) Cabool vs. (10) Plato, 4:30 p.m.
- (3) Gainesville vs. (14) Couch, 6 p.m.
- (6) Dora vs. (11) Sparta, 7:30 p.m.
Houston (1-1) kicks off another tournament tonight that was delayed by inclement weather. The Tigers play Mansfield at 7:30 p.m. in the 77th annual Mansfield Invitational.
