Two persons were arrested in what started as an investigation into a burglary, the Texas County Sheriff's Department reported.

A 32-year-old Mountain Grove woman was arrested  after a Texas County Sheriff’s Department deputy observed drugs and drug paraphernalia in her car in the parking lot of the Justice Center in Houston.

The woman had driven her husband to the center so he could be interviewed as a suspect in a burglary. A computer check revealed that the man had an active warrant, and he was arrested. He then asked the arresting officer if he would go out to the parking lot and inform his wife, who was waiting for him, that she could leave.

While speaking to her, the officer observed a syringe in the console area near the woman. She was asked to exit the car and consent to search was received.

The officer reported finding a baggie containing a white substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, a glass smoking device with residue and other items of paraphernalia.

A computer check revealed that the woman also had an active arrest warrant. She was taken to the Texas County Jail and a report was sent to the county prosecutor.
