The Houston JV Tigers beat Plato when it mattered most.
Just over 16 hours after losing to the Eagles inside Hiett Gymnasium, Houston got its revenge Saturday morning with a 57-50 victory in the consolation final of the Norwood JV Tournament.
After leading by five points at the half, the Tigers (4-3) trailed by three entering the fourth quarter. But they outscored Plato 16-6 down the stretch for the victory.
“I was proud of how they battled,” Houston coach Rob Coffey said. “They never gave up.”
The game was the fifth of the week for the JV Tigers and third in a row.
“I wondered how they would respond after playing so many games in a week,” Coffey said. “They came out and played hard.”
