The Houston Lady Tigers couldn’t hang onto a late lead against Laquey.
Laquey’s Maura Skidmore scored 12 points in the final 3 minutes, 21 seconds as the Lady Hornets rallied for a 47-42 victory Tuesday night inside Hiett Gymnasium.Â
Skimore scored 16 of her team’s 19 fourth-quarter points en route to a game-high 36 points. She was 10-for-11 at the foul line, including four in the final 52 seconds to seal the victory.
Sophomore Sarah Kelley scored 21 points on 10-of-18 shooting for the Lady Tigers (2-3). Shelby Cremer added eight points and four assists.
Houston led 37-33 on senior Sydney Cremer’s conventional three-point play with 4:01 remaining in the game. But Laquey quickly wiped away the advantage with a 12-1 run to go ahead by seven points. Skidmore scored six straight points during the spurt.
