Oliver Dale Crismon, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, in Springfield.
He was born Oct. 14, 1930, in Evening Shade, son of Virgil Ray and Polly Chatham Crismon. He and Fern Marcella Jones were married Feb. 14, 1954.
He loved the outdoors and going hunting. He enjoyed laughing and helping those in need.
He attended Plato First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 59 years, Fern; and four brothers, Farrell, Charlie, Lester and Bob.
Survivors include a son, Rick Crismon of Minooka, Ill.; a daughter, Marilyn Crismon of Springfield; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Bill Crismon of Independence; a sister, Anna Ruth Crismon of Plato; and other family and friends.
Services were Friday, Dec. 20, at Evans Funeral Home with Eugene Earp officiating. Burial was in Smith Cemetery in Edgar Springs.
