Sales tax revenue in Houston was up in 2013, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

Sales tax revenue collected in Houston was flat during the latest monthly distribution, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

The tally from a one-cent sales tax was about $58,134, which is up $381 from the same period a year ago. For the first 11 months of the year, retailers have collected about $603,000, which is up about 1.3 percent from the same period a year ago or $7,666.

Merchants also collect two, quarter-cent sales taxes earmarked for roads, sidewalks and utility work. Each contributed about $14,000.

An eighth-cent sales tax netted $7,004 for debt retirement on a fire truck.
