Unemployment was 6.4 percent in November, the Missouri Department of Economic Development reported.

Texas County’s unemployment rate increased four-tenths of a percentage point in November from the previous month, reports the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

The figure was 6.4 percent. The department said the civilian work force was 11,306 — with 10,586 employed. That put 720 on the unemployment line.

In south-central Missouri, the average jobless rate was 6.1 percent.

Area counties and their unemployment rate: Douglas, 6.7; Howell, 5.4; Shannon, 8.9; and Wright, 6.3.
