Albert Lee Jackson, 86, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 2, 1927, in Licking, son of Clarence and Stella Easley Jackson. He and Clara Ann York were married Sept. 5, 1947, in Houston.

He grew up in Licking and attended school there. He was a custodian for Houston Schools for many years.

He attended Souls Harbor Family Worship and always enjoyed attending the baptisms held at Dog’s Bluff.

He loved staying active. He dug worms and sold them. He enjoyed visiting with friends at McDonalds and watching TV, especially Dallas and Walker Texas Ranger. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Clara.

Survivors include a son, Henry Jackson of Raymondville; a daughter, Shirley Jones of Kirbyville; a brother, Herman Jackson of Steeleville; two sisters, Mae Karnes of Rolla and Fern Hubbs of Colorado; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a great-grand dog, Snowball; and many other family members.

Services were Friday, Jan. 10, at Evans Funeral Home with Joe Montgomery officiating. Burial was in Mahan Cemetery.
