The Houston Lady Tigers managed just nine first-half points in a 50-38 loss Tuesday night to Ava inside Hiett Gymnasium.
Ava scored 12 of the game’s first 17 points and had a commanding 29-19 halftime advantage.
Junior Kylee Elmore led the Lady Tigers (4-9, 1-2 South Central Association) with 16 points. Sarah Kelley added eight and Sydney Cremer scored six.
Ava’s Maison Bovard led all scorers with 22 points.
JUNIOR VARSITY: Behind a 21-0 run in the second and third quarters, the JV Lady Tigers cruised past Ava 36-21 Tuesday night inside Hiett Gymnasium.
Nine different players scored for the Lady Tigers (5-2), who won their third straight game and improved to 2-0 in the SCA. Emily Shea paced Houston with eight points and Makayla Koch added six.
