HHS basketball

The Houston Lady Tigers’ two-game winning streak ended Tuesday with a 59-42 loss at Norwood.

Sophomore Sarah Kelley led HHS (4-7) with 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting. She also had three steals and two blocks before fouling out. Kylee Elmore added nine points and three assists.

Norwood scored 15 of the first 18 points of the game to take a double-digit advantage and led by 15 points at the half. Michia Jenkins hit 3-pointers and scored a game-high 23 points.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Freshman Alyssa Hayes scored 19 points as the JV Lady Tigers edged Norwood 37-35 Tuesday night. 

After blowing an early 11-3 advantage, Houston (3-2) pulled even at 31-all when Hayes made two free throws with 3:49 remaining. The Lady Tigers took the lead for good on two more foul shots from Hayes just over a minute later.

Jaydin Ramsey had seven points for Houston, which won despite shooting 29.3 percent from the field. Krista Scott led the team with five assists.
