Houston police handled several investigations during the last week.

The following reports were generated last week by the Houston Police Department.

•Laurellyn M. Pierrard, 37, of 8030 Indiana Road in Houston, was issued a citation for driving with a suspended license after a 6 p.m. Jan. 3 traffic stop on Oak Hill Drive .

•Taylor D. Walser, 19, of 800 Cleveland Road in Houston, was issued a citation for failing to stop at a posted stop sign Dec. 27 after an officer observed a gray Subaru turn from Mill Street onto First Street without stopping.

•James A. Drewel, 47, of 801 Dooley St. in Houston, was issued three citations after a traffic stop at about 11 p.m. Dec. 26 on Dooley Street.

An officer made the stop after observing a green GMC Sonoma make several turns without signaling. After making contact with the driver (Drewel), the officer smelled alcohol and field sobriety tests were conducted.

Drewel was cited for driving while intoxicated (persistent offender), driving with a suspended license and failing to signal. He was taken to the Texas County Jail.

•Kristopher E. Meskil, 29, of 608 W. Ozark St. in Houston, was issued two citations after a 10:10 p.m. Dec. 31 traffic stop on U.S. 63.

An officer made the stop after observing a yellow Pontiac Sunfire traveling without dimming its bright lights. After making contact with the driver (Meskil), the officer smelled alcohol and field sobriety tests were conducted. After he was arrested, the determination was made that Meskil was under the influence of multiple medications. He was cited for driving while intoxicated (drug condition) and failure to dim bright lights. He was taken to the Texas County Jail.

•Three people were issued citations after a shoplifting incident at about 3:45 p.m. Dec. 30 at Houston Walmart Supercenter.

Cited for stealing under $500 were Rachel M. Smith, 33, of 9126 Splitlimb Road at Raymondville and Tara L. Marr, 20, of 327 Rogers St. in Licking. Cited for receiving stolen property was Gary D. Smith Jr., 31, of 9178 Splitlimb Road at Raymondville.

•Helen L. Ward, 74, of 20952 Highway B at Raymondville, was issued a citation for failure to yield right-of-way after a two-vehicle accident at about 5:10 p.m. Dec. 30 on U.S. 63 in front of Walmart Supercenter.

•Dalton J. Smith, 22, of 403 W. Mill St. in Houston, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for three counts of second-degree burglary and three counts of stealing under $500.  The arrest was made at Smith’s residence. He was taken to the Texas County Jail where he was unable to post $150,000 bond.

•Dustin R. Odom, 28, of 513 Phelps St. in Houston, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after being allegedly caught attempting to shoplift a box of anti-diarrhea medicine at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 23 from Houston Walmart Supercenter.
