The trailhead of the Brushy Creek portion of the Village Trail, which extends throughout the community. This is situated off Oak Hill Drive, close to the site of additional planned work.

Preliminary plans and drawings for a major addition to the Village Trail are available for review at Houston City Hall.

The sketches, completed by Archer Engineering of Rolla, show a stretch of sidewalk that will be added primarily on the east side of Oak Hill Drive from Forrest Street south to the parking lot of the Village Trail parking lot. Most of the construction will occur on the east side of Oak Hill Drive before crossing to the west closer to the parking area, said City Administrator Larry Sutton.

Construction is expected this year under the Missouri Department of Transportation project that pays 80 percent of the cost.

The drawings can be reviewed until Feb. 3 in the office Elaine Campbell, development director for the city.
