SHIRLEY BROWN

Shirley Annette Brown, 76, of West Plains, passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Brooke Haven Health Care.

She was born Feb. 28, 1937, in West Plains, daughter of Rube Collins and Jennie Morgan Collins. She and Clyde Henry Brown were married Oct. 29, 1955, in West Plains. He passed away Feb. 20, 2010.

She graduated in 1955 from West Plains High School. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at Brown Shoe Factory in Houston and Jeffers Vet Supply.

She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, playing softball and time with her family.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in West Plains.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Captain Alan Clyde Brown; five brothers; and five sisters.

Survivors include two children, Danny Brown of West Plains and Julie Brown of Columbia; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were Monday, Jan. 20, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home in West Plains. Burial was in New Liberty Cemetery.
