The following reports were generated last week by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department.
•A deputy was dispatched to the Cabool Police Department at about 11:40 p.m. Jan. 11 after a 28-year-old woman reported that her 30-year-old husband had assaulted her at their Highway EE residence.
The woman told the officer her husband choked her and slammed her head several times against a wall and a cabinet. She stated she didn’t wish to pursue charges, she just wanted the incident documented.
•On Jan. 10, a deputy investigated a claim by a 54-year-old male inmate at the Texas County Jail who said he had been assaulted by a 24-year-old male inmate.
The officer observed surveillance video and confirmed that an altercation had occurred between the two men. The incident reportedly began when the older man was going through the younger man’s clothing and the younger man took offense.
No charges were filed.
•A 54-year-old Licking woman reported on Jan. 9 that someone had poured an unknown substance into the gas tank of her 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, causing it to break down.
She told an investigating officer that she took the car to a mechanic after it broke down, and was advised of the substance being in the tank. There are no suspects.
•A woman called 911 at about 3 p.m. Jan. 9 indicating she was stranded without food and water at her Highway M residence. A deputy obtained groceries and water from the Texas County Food Pantry and delivered them to the woman.
•Tina M. Dow, 45, of 16464 Forrest Drive in Houston, was issued a citation for third-degree assault after allegedly punching a 26-year-old man in the face at about 8:30 p.m. Jan. 3.
An investigating officer reported that the incident took place after Dow, the man and another woman (who all live at the same location) had been drinking alcoholic beverages together and Dow became angry at the other woman. Dow reportedly wanted the man to leave and ended up hitting him.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 12:10 p.m. Jan. 10 regarding a report of a 911 hang-up call from a Harlow Road residence at Summersville. A woman who lives there told the officer she had not called 911.
The officer asked for and received entry into the home and observed that everything looked normal.
•Amber Kirk, 25, of 727 Dooley St. in Houston, was issued a citation on Jan. 7 for possession of a prohibited item while an inmate at a county or private jail. An officer reported that Kirk was found to have two cigarette lighters concealed in a body cavity.
Another female inmate was found to be in possession of one lighter, but she was not cited.
•A 60-year-old Houston man came to the TCSD office on Jan. 9 and reported that his 37-year-old son had threatened to make up accusations against him.
The father stated that his son owed several people a lot of money and the incident occurred after he had called a woman to ask if she had been being repaid.
