Texas County deputies are investigating several crimes in the county.

The following reports were generated last week by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department.

•A woman reported a burglary at an Arthur Creek Road residence she owns at about 8:15 p.m. Jan. 26.

An investigating officer determined that three people were removing items from the residence, but they were rental tenants. The woman told the officer the people owed her money. The officer told her the matter was civil, not criminal.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 3:40 a.m. Jan. 27. to a Highway 32 residence at Licking regarding an open line on 911. The officer made contact with residents there, who stated their child had accidently dialed 911.

•A deputy responded on Jan. 28 to a Country Aire Lane residence at Cabool after a 34-year-old woman reported her neighbor’s dog was causing problems with her dogs.

The officer made contact with the 57-year-old female neighbor and told her that failure to maintain adequate control of her dogs is animal abuse in Missouri and that she could be cited if problems persist.

•A woman called Jan. 25 to report vehicles hitting dogs on purpose on Long Valley Road. An officer advised the woman to get a description of any vehicle driving erratically in the area and provide that information to the sheriff’s department.

•A deputy was dispatched Jan. 24 to an Arroll Road residence at Summersville regarding a reported burglary.

A 65-year-old man who lives there told the officer several large items (of unknown value) had been stolen. During an investigation, one of the items was found at a pawn shop in Winona.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence of a 34-year-old man and 29-year-old woman on Highway 17 at Summersville. During a search of the home, some of the swiped goods were found, along with methamphetamine, marijuana and numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia.

A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking multiple charges against the man.

•Nicholas M. Jones, 22, of 18100 Highway B in Houston, was issued citations Jan. 23 for first-degree trespassing, failure to obey a law officer and possession of an item a prisoner is prohibited from receiving.

Jones was cited after an officer responded to a report of trespassing at a Northview Lane trailer park in Houston. After being taken to the Texas County Jail, Jones reportedly grabbed a cigarette that had been removed from his possession off of the booking counter and put in his pocket.

•A deputy was dispatched on Jan. 31 at about midnight to a Northview Lane trailer park in Houston regarding a report of loud music. The officer made contact with the resident responsible and stated it needed the volume needed to be turned down. It was.

•Deputies were dispatched to a Country Aire Lane trailer park at Cabool at about 8 p.m. Jan 30 regarding a fire out of control. Upon arrival, officers found a person burning a small pile of leaves and determined the fire was under control.

•A 44-year-old St. Charles man came to the TCSD office on Jan. 29 and reported a cabin he owns on Lewey Drive had been broken into and that several items had been stolen. The man told authorities that swiped goods (with a total value of $270) included 15 five-gallon buckets of corn, 800 pounds of bagged corn and some chain saw oil.

There are no suspects.

•A Plato man reported at about 1:20 p.m. Jan. 29  that two people were looking through the windows at his Roubidoux Road residence. An investigating officer was unable to locate anyone at the residence and determined that all doors and windows were secure.

•The owner of a U.S. 63 car lot at Cabool reported on Jan. 29 that a car stereo and a battery had been swiped from a vehicle on the lot. A 22-year-old Licking woman and her 37-year-old boyfriend were suspects.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 4:10 p.m. Jan. 22 regarding a report of an assault at a Country Aire Lane trailer park at Cabool.

After an investigation, a 49-year-old man was taken into custody after allegedly assaulting a 31-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman. An officer stated that both victims displayed multiple injuries to the head and face.

A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking charges against the suspect.
