Two farming organizations held events last week as part of “Thank A Farmer Day” activities.

Texas County Farm Bureau and Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee held activities at Town and County Supermarkets at Licking, Houston and Cabool.

About 80 people stopped for cookies, hot chocolate and conversation at Licking. The winner of $50 in groceries was Lydia Reiter of Salem.

About 95 participated Friday at Houston. Winners of two $25 grocery certificates were Richard Ebert and Doris Langford, both of Houston.

The young farmers group, led by Kaylyn Dalbolm, distributed cookies and information to about 50 people at Cabool. Two $25 grocery certificates went to J. Dixon and Clarence Moore, both of Cabool.
