MABEL BROWN

Mabel M. Brown, 93, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at her home in Sherrill.

She was born Aug. 29, 1920, in Hennessey, Okla., daughter of Ed and Mary Marion. She and Bryce Brown were married May 5, 1941, in Salem.

She grew up attending Crow Chapel and Sherrill Community Church. In the 1970s she became a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, where she was a current member.

She enjoyed her family, gardening, canning and working with her cattle on the family farm, where she grew up and lived until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bryce; a sister, Georgena Duncan; and a great-grandson, Casey Brown.

Survivors include five children, Bessie Swinford of Rolla, Lloyd Brown and Donald Brown of Licking, Ed Brown of Charlack and Linda York of Troy; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Services were Saturday, Feb. 15, at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Phillip McGuire and Pastor John Jordan officiating. Burial was in Hutchason Cemetery under direction of Fox Funeral Home.
