Sales tax revenue reported in Texas County was up in the first month of the year compared to the same period in 2013.

Texas County’s sales tax was up about 1.7 percent during the last monthly distribution — compared to the same period a year ago, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

The tally was $67,147, which was up about $1,151 from a year ago.

The county collects three half-cent sales taxes that are used for general operations, debt repayment on the justice center and maintenance.
