Houston senior Aaron Cantrell scored 11 points in the Tigers' loss at Mountain Grove.

The Houston Tigers’ final stretch of the season has proven to be a difficult one.

HHS lost for the seventh and eighth consecutive times last week against two conference rivals. Mountain Grove defeated the Tigers 49-37 last Tuesday and three days later, Houston lost 59-42 at Thayer.

Devin Coulter and Aaron Cantrell scored 11 points apiece in the loss to the Panthers.

HHS (6-16, 0-5 South Central Association) only trailed by two points following a low-scoring first half. But the Panthers slowly pulled away in the third and fourth quarters.

On Friday, Coulter scored 21 points and Dylan Hooper added eight in the Tigers’ loss at Thayer.

Houston concludes the regular season this week with road games at Liberty on Tuesday and at Cabool on Thursday. District play begins at 6 p.m. Monday as the eighth-seeded Tigers face top-seeded Hartville at Cabool High School.
