Four persons were hurt — including two from Licking — when their vehicle ran off a county road early Sunday, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Tpr. Paul Volkmer said a 2005 Dodge Stratus driven southbound by Thomas M. Rector, 33, failed to negotiate a curve on County Road 5010 about three miles south of Rolla, ran off the right side of the roadway at about 1:25 a.m., struck a wooden post and several trees.
Rector sustained serious injuries and was flown to University Hospital in Columbia.
Three passengers were injured: Benjamin J. Christenson, 39, of Rolla, was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur with serious injuries; Amy R. Frederich, 25, of Licking, was transported to Phelps County Regional Medical Center with minor injuries; and Christian K. Thomas, 20, of Eldridge, was ejected from the vehicle and transferred with moderate injuries to the Rolla hospital.
Everyone was wearing a seat belt except Thomas, said Volkmer. The vehicle was totaled.
