Texas County’s unemployment rate increased eight-tenths of a percentage point in January from the previous month, the Missouri Department of Economic Development reported.
The figure was 7.2 percent.
The agency said the county’s civilian labor force was at 11,429. Total employment was 10,601. Those unemployed stood at 828.
In south-central Missouri, the average jobless rate was 7.1 percent. Area counties and their unemployment rates: Douglas, 7; Howell, 6.4; Shannon, 9.4; and Wright, 7.2.
