Deloris Ann (Walker) Glidewell, 60, was born Feb. 7, 1954, to Paul Evans and Effie Pearl (Calhoun) Walker in Wright County, Mo. She passed away from this life unexpectedly on March 12, 2014.
Deloris’s passion was her son, grandchildren and extended family. She loved being outdoors, going floating, camping and taking walks in the woods with her husband. Deloris loved music. She played a guitar and sang country music and later in life enjoyed singing in the choir while attending as a member at Souls Harbor Family Worship, Houston, Mo. Deloris loved the Lord with all her heart.
Through her life she had many occupations. She attended Beauty College in St. Louis, Mo., and obtained her license as a beautician and opened her own shop, called Dee’s Beauty Salon. She worked at Brown Shoe Company, HD Lee and Hoth’s manufacturing, then she sustained an injury which ended her working career. Being unable to work, she made many friends through social media, enjoyed doing cross stitch and on occasion reading a good book.
Deloris attended Houston and Mountain Grove schools and received her GED as an adult.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Nettie Arvilla England; and two brothers, Charles Thomas Walker and Tipton (Tip) Evans Walker.
Deloris is survived by her son, Byron Lee Ward and wife, Shannon, of O’Fallon, Mo.; her husband, Robert Glidewell of Cabool, Mo.; three sisters, Pauline Hicks and husband, Tom, of Willow Springs, Mo., Doris Wilson of Cabool, Mo., and Donna Hutsell and husband, Benny, of Cabool, Mo.; three grandchildren, Jacob, Joseph and Catherine Ward of O’Fallon, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will be holding A Celebration of Deloris’ life at 11 a.m. Saturday March 29, 2014 at Souls Harbor Family Worship. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
