Frederick Marlowe Guest came to earth on lucky April 13th, 1944, in Decatur, Macon, Ill., United States of America. He passed away on March 21, 2014, in his home making his age 69 years, 11 months and 8 days.

His late parents were Judd and Ruth (Connard) Guest, who raised Fred in Decatur, Macon, Ill., until he served his country in the Vietnam conflict from 1966 through 1967.

On returning home he worked for a local business until he acquired a position for the Mountain Bell Phone Company.

In 1972, Fred was transferred to Phoenix, Ariz., from Decatur, Ill., and loved riding on his motorcycle through the desert hills and dusty back roads. He loved Arizona heat, camping and the beautiful sunsets.

In June of 1974, his good friend and real estate agent, Ron White, baptized him a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He later met Patricia Lynne Price at church. They married on Feb. 5, 1991, in Tempe, Ariz., and were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple the following year.

In 1994, Fred retired from the phone company in Phoenix. When July came, he and Pat packed up their belongings and made the move from Tempe, Ariz., to Bucyrus, Mo., and called the Ozarks their home.

Survivors include his wife, Pat, of Bucyrus, Mo.; his sister, Beverly Russell and nephew, Dean Russell, of Mesa, Ariz.; and his niece, Linda Warren of Decatur, Ill.

Graveside services are 2 p.m. Friday, March 28, in the Hickory Ridge Cemetery, Upton Township. Pallbearers are Lynn McDowell, Scott Mortensen, Jason Smith and Todd Mortensen. Honorary pallbearers are Duane DeVere, Tom Lewis and John Stillwell. Services are under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
