Gary David Crump, 73, was born Sept. 4, 1940, in Overland, Mo., to Ray and Ann (Sumpter) Crump. He passed away at his home in Elk Creek, Mo., on March 12, 2014.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Denny, Eddie and Ralph; and a sister, Jean.
He is survived by his wife, Amy of the home in Elk Creek, Mo.; a son, Scott Crump and wife, Jerri Sue, of Raymondville, Mo.; a daughter, Rhonda Solomon of Raymondville, Mo.; three grandchildren, Tonya Hayden of Florida, Tyler Crump of Mountain View, Mo., and Paige Crump of Raymondville, Mo.; one great-grandchild, Wyatt Hayden of Florida; two brothers, Harold Crump of Overland, Mo., and Charles Crump of Wisconsin; and a sister, Bea Houska of Springfield, Mo.
Gary worked for Mid America Dairyman for many years, retiring in 2006.
He took great pride in his yard; he loved to mow and plant shrubs and flowers. Gary was the biggest Cardinal baseball fan there was. He loved to hunt, but he was thrilled to take and watch his grandchildren hunt. His greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren and his family.
Gary was a loving husband, father and grandfather. If you met Gary, you instantly liked him. He was a very sincere and giving man who enjoyed visiting with and helping people. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Services were 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Evans Funeral Home with Brad Wallace officiating. Pallbearers were George Busse, Travis Sanders, Tyler Crump, Harold Puckett, Rick Williams and Don Roberts. Honorary pallbearer was Eugene Eden. Burial was in Nagle Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
