Jack “J.W.” William Worthen, 75, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, in Houston.

He was born June 12, 1938, in Lubbock, Texas, son of Jack and Maggie Isom Worthen. He and Debi Farson were married April 10, 1987.

He grew up in Texas and after high school joined the Air Force.

He and his wife, Debi, moved to a farm in the Norwood area in 1990. He was a truck driver for Crete Carrier Corp and traveled from coast to coast delivering freight. He also worked for the sheriff’s department while living in Carlsbad, N.M.

He enjoyed spending time fishing and had recently joined the Wedgewood Country Club and played golf as often as he could.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Debi of the home; four sons, Wayne Worthen, Micheal Worthen, Brandon Worthen and Robert Warren; three daughters, Debbie Bryant, Teri Beth Smith and Sasha Blasé; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and many other family members and friends.

No services are planned at this time.
