Milton Collins, 88, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014, in Cabool.
He was born July 1, 1925, in St. Louis, son of Charles Wesley and Daisy Mable Replogle Collins. He and Eleanora Kemper were married June 7, 1960. She passed away Jan. 8, 1991.
He grew up in the St. Louis area and after graduation joined the Army Air Corp. He was a B-24 pilot during World War II. He was involved in photo reconnaissance over the Pacific.
He and his wife, Eleanora, moved to Lawrence, Kan., in 1972 from Blue Springs. He was a businessman there. When his wife passed away, he moved to Houston.
He was a member of the Houston United Methodist Church. He was a lifetime member of the Lion’s Club International and VFW.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Melvin Wesley, Charles Humphrey, Robert Lee, Harold Theodore and John William; and a sister, Mable Oleta Collins.
Survivors include three sisters, Dorothy Mae Stanton, Barbara Jean Keeling and Charlotte Ann Spencer; and a brother, Donald Joe.
A Celebration of Life service is 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 30 at the United Methodist Church in Houston. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
