The Missouri State Highway Patrol made 33 arrests and issued 56 warnings during sobriety checkpoints on consecutive days late last week in Texas County.

Six arrests were made Friday at U.S. 63 and Highway 17. Included in the totals were one DWI arrest and two speed summonses.

The following day, troopers made 27 arrests and issued 45 warnings near U.S. 60 and Dunn Road. Among the totals were three felony drug arrests, eight seat belt summonses, two driving while suspended or revoked and two misdemeanor drug summonses.

“It is the goal of the Missouri State Highway Patrol to remove as many drunk, drugged or otherwise unsafe drivers from our roadways as we possibly can,” said Troop G Capt. Mark G. Inman. “Please do your part by driving safely.  Don’t drink and drive and always wear your safety belt.”
