Houston police officers handled several investigations during the last week. 

The following reports were generated last week by the Houston Police Department.

•A Houston man and woman are suspected in a stealing incident March 20 at the S&S Package Liquor store on Brushy Creek Road.

According to a report, video surveillance shows the man, 46, and the woman, 47 (both of Morton Road in Houston), pulling up in the business’ parking lot and the man entering a 31-year-old Pennsylvania woman’s car while his female accomplice went inside and purchased beer. The victim reported that her purse had been swiped, which contained numerous items including a wallet, $500 cash, several credit cards, a set of headphones and four rings.

After an investigation, the purse and swiped goods were recovered. A report was sent to the county prosecutor seeking felony charges against the male suspect of stealing more than $500 but less than $25,000 and against the female suspect of felony hindering prosecution.

•Christine L. Strong, 25, of 608 Ozark St. in Houston, was issued a citation for filing a false report after an incident at 4:50 p.m. March 20 at Emmett Kelly Park.

After an officer was dispatched to the park regarding a report of peace disturbance and assault, Strong told the officer that a 17-year-old male had threatened and harassed her and her 30-year-old boyfriend. During an investigation, both the teen and the boyfriend told the officer it was Strong who was the aggressor and that the teen had never threatened her.

•Nathan K. Hale, 33, of 9430 Strawberry Road in Houston, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after allegedly shoplifting bedding sheets from Walmart on March 14.

•Ronald K. Atkisson, 48, of 408 Florence St. in Houston, was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia on March 12 after an officer’s investigation of a domestic disturbance at about 10:15 p.m. at Atkisson’s home

•Justin B. Williams, 34, of 115 Wyn Drive in Houston was issued citations for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway after a traffic stop at Walnut Street and Oak Hill Drive at about 8 p.m. March 17.

An officer made the stop after observing a gold Buick Century moving erratically. After making contact with the driver – Williams – the officer smelled alcohol and field sobriety tests were conducted. Williams was taken to the Texas County Jail for a mandatory six-hour hold, according to a report.

•Lora M. Shoemaker, 53, of 615 Highway 17 in Houston, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after allegedly swiping a Walmart employee’s purse on March 7.
