Wilma Jean Brown, 85, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014.
She was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Pryor, Okla., daughter of Floyd and Gladys Villines. She married Vinson Brown. He passed away in February 2011.
Her large family moved to California when she was a child. She worked in canneries and as a waitress. She and her husband, Vinson, became Christians in the early 1960s. They served God at the Church of Christ in Chowchilla, Calif., and the Church of Christ in Licking.
She loved to spoil her family. She enjoyed working in the garden, canning vegetables, cooking meals and making pies. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Vinson; her parents; four brothers, Connard, Howard, Kenneth and Bill; and four sisters, Frances Villines, Chris Watson, Margaret Villines and Maxine Parker.
Survivors include a brother, Sonny Villines; three sisters, Mae Egan, Joan Dickenson and Beverly Ewing; three children, Rusty Brown of Abilene, Texas, Dick Brown of Woodward, Okla., and Darrin Brown of Licking; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many friends.
Services were Sunday, March 16, at the Church of Christ in Licking with Larry Tubbs officiating. Burial was in Licking Cemetery under direction of Fox Funeral Home.
