Faye Virginia Gockley, 92, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014, in Houston.
She was born May 22, 1921, near Bado, daughter of James and Retta Ellis Coble. She and Iris Gockley were married May 8, 1946.
After marriage, she and her husband, Iris, resided on a farm near Fairview, where they farmed and raised their family.
She was an active member of Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church until she relocated to Cabool in 2004 and joined the Victory Worship Church.
In addition to her devotion to God, she enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, fishing, reading, playing Rummikub, quilting and spending time with her family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Iris; five brothers, Lester, Virgil, Lee, Ernie and Walter; and four sisters, Alta Sutton, Opal Wallace, Ermal Clark and Edith Gockley.
Survivors include two sons, Bennie Gockley of Joseph, Ore., and Wayne Gockley of Cabool, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 3, at Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church with Junior Hutsell and Bill Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the Bado Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home.
