Ronald (Ron) Zebedee Pinkston, 71, son of Zebedee and Clara Davenport Pinkston, was born Sept. 17, 1942. He left his home in Success, Mo., to be with his Lord and Savior on April 23, 2014.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Donna Kay Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie of the home; two sons, Allan and Shane Pinkston and their families, two step-children, Lonnie Buehlmann and wife Lisa and Mellony Richards and husband Victor, both of Success, Mo.; two grandsons, Dakota Buehlmann, who he raised like a son, and wife, Emery, and Carter Richards; a granddaughter, Sierra Buehlmann; and one great-granddaughter, Dakotaās daughter, Paisley Buehlmann; as well as nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Ron grew up in Success and graduated from high school in Licking in 1960.
He married Jackie 31 years ago on January 17, 1983.
Ron attended Faith Fellowship Church in Houston, Mo. He received Christ as his Savior at Licking Pentecostal Church as a child.
Ron loved chauffeuring Jackie and Sierra to barrel races, both local and as far away as Florida and Oklahoma City. He always liked to let everyone know that the horses they were riding were his. To hear him tell it, he trained them himself.
He enjoyed many years of watching Dakota play baseball, going hunting with him, and helping him buy, sell and trade trucks. He also enjoyed taking Carter to feed cows on the farm.
Ron loved his family, friends and especially his grandchildren. He looked forward to and was very excited to meet his great-granddaughter, Paisley, when she arrived in February of this year.
Ron will be missed by all who knew him. We know that he is enjoying a perfectly healed body in the beauty of Heaven in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
āBut for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.ā – Malachi 4:2
