Texas County ranked second in the state after the first six days of the spring firearms turkey season, the Missouri Department of Conservation reported.
The tally was 382 birds, which was 45 behind the leader, Franklin County. Callaway County — with 357 — was third.
The breakdown in Texas County was: 333, adult gobblers; two, bearded hens; and 47, juvenile gobbler.
