The Houston Tigers rallied late to remain undefeated in the South Central Association.

HHS scored eight times in the fifth and sixth innings to beat Salem 10-5 Tuesday afternoon.

The Tigers (6-5, 2-0 SCA) have won four of their last five games to climb over the .500 mark for the first time since beating Salem in the season opener.

Devin Coulter and Whitley Welch had three hits apiece to pace the HHS offense, which out-hit Salem 12-5. Tanner Cantrell knocked in two runs.

Trailing 5-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Tigers scored five times to take the lead. Coulter started the scoring with a RBI double to plate Ethan Kelley. Tanner Cantrell had a run-scoring single and later scored on a wild pitch to tie it and Trevor Merckling singled home Aaron Cantrell to put the Tigers in front.

Houston padded its lead in the sixth with three more runs. Tanner Cantrell singled home Coulter, Quinton Alston walked witht he bases loaded and Stetson Welch had a RBI groundout.

Alston allowed three hits and two runs – one earned – in five innings for his second victory of the season. He struck out two and walked five.
