Barbara Joann Malchert, 70, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, at her home in Yukon.
She was born Sept. 14, 1943, in Raymondville, Tom Elvis and Sarah Bullock Beasley.
She worked as a housekeeper for a hotel in St. Louis for 23 years. When her husband, John retired, they moved back to the Ozarks.
She loved flowers. She had flowerbeds anywhere she could find a spot to plant. Her home was filled with plants.
She was a member of the Pacific Baptist Church. She led the singing and worked in the children’s ministries.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings.
Survivors include her husband, John W. Malchert; two sons, Terry L. Malchert and Franky L. Malchert; a daughter, Cherie N. Douglas; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, William Beasley; and several other family members.
Services were Friday, May 23, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Lovan and Pastor Charles Horton officiating. Burial was in Union Chapel Cemetery.
