Houston advanced through team tennis districts Monday with a 5-0 victory against Licking.
The Tigers easily advanced to face Willow Springs on Tuesday. Individual districts are Saturday.
HHS won three singles matches and swept doubles play to clinch the district opener. Maya Brown was a 6-3, 6-1 winner, Ely Todd was victorious 6-2, 6-1 and Sarah Kelley cruised 6-0, 6-2.
The first team to five points in districts wins.
Houston also swept Licking 9-0 in last Tuesday’s home match.
Lucas Kelley blanked his opponent 8-0. Ely Todd won 8-1, Sarah Kelley, Lizzy Swindell and Olivia Swindell were 8-2 winners and Brown was victorious 8-3.
In doubles play, Todd and Brown teamed up for an 8-3 win. Lucas and Sarah Kelley were 8-4 winners and Woosley and Swindell won 8-5.
Earlier in May, HHS was defeated 6-3 at West Plains and lost 7-2 at home against Salem.
On Friday, Houston was swept 9-0 by Willow Springs.
