Desiree Venable will continue her volleyball career at one of the premiere junior colleges.
Venable, a libero at Houston High School, recently signed a letter of intent with Metropolitan Community College-Longview. She intends to play two seasons with the Lakers, who awarded her a full athletic scholarship, and transfer to Park University.
MCC-Longview has been nationally ranked seven times in the top 10 and qualified four times for the National Junior College Athletic Association national tournament. The Lakers are a seven-time Region XVI champion.
The team has a .720 winning percentage – 223 wins and 87 losses – the past eight seasons.
