Chester Leroy Smith, 75, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Mercy Hospital.
He was born June 28, 1938, in Success, son of Earl and Lottie Ellen Mace Smith. He and Barbara Ann McKee were married Nov. 19, 1966. After her passing, he and Marlene Anderson were married May 8, 2010.
He served in the Navy from 1960-â64 and worked at Fort Leonard Wood until his retirement in 1993.
He loved reading his Bible, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara; a half-sister Bernice Nall; a half-brother, Winford Smith; and three infant siblings.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene of the home in Ozark; two daughters Debbie of Branson and Loretta of Ozark; a stepson, Aaron Anderson of Protem; two grandchildren, Savannah and Braxton; two step-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Carter; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were Tuesday, July 1, at Plato Christian Church with Eugene Earp officiating. Burial was in Long Hollow Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home
