The following reports were generated last week by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
•A 33-year-old Licking woman was arrested after a deputy responded June 7 to a report of a suspicious person at a McColgin Road residence.
Upon arrival, the officer made contact with a 51-year-old woman who said her mother owned the home. The woman stated the house had been broken into and suspected a woman who was parked on the property in a white SUV.
The officer made contact with the suspect and observed items inside the vehicle matching the description of those the homeowner’s daughter had listed as swiped. The officer also observed blood on the suspect’s hand and blood on a curtain near a broken window in the house.
The suspect was handcuffed and taken to the Texas County Jail. A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking charges of second-degree burglary and stealing less than $500.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 11 p.m. June 21 to a Northview Lane trailer park at Houston to assist an ambulance crew. The officer stated he helped an intoxicated man out of his residence and onto the ambulance’s cot.
•Ebony Jones, 18, of 14429 Highway AW, Apt. C, at Plato, was issued a citation for resisting arrest after an incident just after midnight June 21.
Jones was cited after deputies were dispatched regarding a domestic dispute on Highway AW. An investigating officer reported that a computer check on Jones revealed she had a warrant.
The officer stated Jones attempted to flee on foot when advised of the warrant. She was taken to the Texas County Jail.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 2:25 a.m. June 21 to a Northview Lane trailer park at Houston to assist an ambulance crew. The officer stated he helped the ambulance crew place an elderly man onto the ambulance’s cot.
•An anonymous caller reported smelling ammonia on Hazelton Drive at 8:10 a.m. June 21. An investigating officer was unable to locate the smell.
•A 70-year-old Raymondville man reported June 21 that a Massey Ferguson tractor valued at $16,000 had been stolen from a carport at his Amburn Road residence. There are no suspects.
•A man who works for the Frito-Lay Co. reported on June 18 that someone had tampered with the gas cap on a delivery truck that was parked next to the company’s storage building on U.S. 63 north of Houston. There are no suspects.
•A representative of Landmark Bank reported on June 19 that a toilet valued at $200 and a back porch valued at $3,290 were missing from a house owned by the bank on Brown Road at Elk Creek. The case is under investigation.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 8 p.m. June 13 regarding a possible domestic dispute at a residence in a Northview Lane trailer park at Houston.
The officer made contact with a man and woman at the location and determined they were intoxicated and speaking loudly, but had not been fighting.
