DAVID MURRAY

David Wayne Murray, son of the late Robert and Donna (Burgener) Murray, was born Oct. 17, 1967 in Houston, Mo. He departed this life June 4, 2014, surrounded by his wife, children, family and friends at the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Mo, at the age of 46.

David was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Don Murray.

On March 5, 1999, he was united in marriage to Kathy Boone. Together they had one daughter, Jessica Moore, and her husband, Harvey, of Houston. Other children are Chuck Boone and his wife, Danielle, of Success, Christina Janes of Houston and Misty Carr; and five grandchildren, Sean, Easton, Khloe, Kyndra, Kye.

David was born and raised in the Plato community and graduated from Plato High School. David and Kathy made their home in Success, Mo., where David worked in the construction business. He was always busy doing something and the fruits of his labor remain in the homes and in the hearts of the ones who have received the benefit of his hard work. But his favorite times were visiting with people and enjoying the good things in life like loving others, making them laugh and lightening their load for the day, showing them that life truly isn’t about what you can gain but what you give. He offered his love and encouragement to anyone who would receive it, and through being diagnosed with cancer, was reminded that God had given him that same offer.

David recommitted his life to Jesus and truly began to learn how God could bless and give an even greater purpose to his life, and the lives of those around him. David could sincerely say, ‘I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.’ Upon which he has heard, ‘Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.’

David was a loving and faithful husband, father, papa, uncle, brother, friend and neighbor. Our memories of him will always include his boyish smile and charm, his strong and loving arms when giving hugs, his ability to not take life too seriously, and his comical one-liners. There are no words to explain how deeply David will be missed, but we will cherish the wonderful memories he created during his lifetime here and look forward to seeing him again in heaven.

Services were 10 a.m. Saturday June 7, at the Roby Baptist Church with Pastor Brock Davis officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers were Cody Ramsey, Chuck Boone, Delmar Richardson, Doug Suda, Steve Weber, Danny Stice and Richard Echols.
